DOSA - TOMATO

Tomato dosa is very delicious and

even very easy to make.  Its a
  South Indian recipe.
 The making of
other dosa follows with the soaking
of rice and urad dal for four to five
  hours. Grinding and fermenting it
for about 7 -8 hours.  Making this
dosa is very simple and no need
of any advance procedures.  Its ripe,
spicy and crunchy. These type of
  dosas especially helps the bachelors,
working moms and even for the
  quick solution of unplanned
  breakfast and
for those who likes can
. have it in afternoon or evening
hours as a light tiffin instead of
  heavy meals. The ingredients used
are very few and preparation time
  almost in seconds.

The measurement here I have shown
is for 3-4 members. Increase it as per
  the consistency you need.

  PREPARATION

Take 2 ripe tomatoes, 2 Green chilies,
few curry leaves, small piece of
ginger, 2 pcs of garlic and grind it
well to make a fine paste.  Add 1/2
glass measuring 240 ml of Semolina,
salt mix it well and keep it aside for a
while. Keep it for soaking for five
minutes. So that the tomato mixture
is observed by the semolina. Keep it
in the mixie jar itself as more
procedures to be done. If the
quantity is more you can transfer to
  a vessel.

Add 1/4 glass of rice flour mix it.
Taste the salt and add if required.
Never add too salt at once. Grind it
well into a medium thick batter.
Water too add little by little. Add
another 1/4 glass of rice flour and
  mix it. Taste the salt.

Place a dosa pan on stove in medium    flame.  Reduce the flame to low
  when its heated. Apply little
sunflower oil on the pan and spread
it. Now pour the batter with ladle,
spread it and make a circle. Just as
you prepare dosas. Only the food
product differs. Spread oil with a
spoon when the color of the whole
dosa changes. Never apply oil on half
cooked dosas and turn it over

If you are making on non stick tavas     and don't prefer oil.You
 can make it
without applying oil. But  the dosa
enhances more if imade on ordinary
   tavas applied with oil.

Thus make the dosa one by one.
   With   above measurement you can
   get 10-12 dosas. The measurement
can be increased or decreased as per
the consistency you need. This dosa
is best to be had with coconut or
onion chutney.  The recipe of onion
   chutney I am presenting below.

Take 2-3 medium sized onions. Cut it
into length wise. Place a kadai on
   medium flame. Pour little coconut
oil.  Reduce the flame to low. Add
   little curry leaves when its
heated. Add 3/4 tsp of chilly powder,
Add the chopped onion and stir until
turns transparent and the raw smell
goes off. Remove it from the flame.
Grind it and make a smooth paste of
   chutney.

You can reduce the chilly powder if you don't prefer too spicy.
